The Scabiosa japonica 'Blue Diamonds' also known as Pincushion Flower is a dwarf selection that only reaches 6 inches tall. The wonderful lilac-blue flowers bloom from June to October. `Blue Diamonds' is a reminiscent of a pincushion full of pins. With its green foliage it has a plant spread of 12-18" and it is disease resistant. `Blue Diamonds' is great for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds and does excellent in rock gardens. It will do excellent for front-of-the-border areas with Coreopsis `Moonbeam' Dianthus 'Bath's Pink' in mass plantings or as cut flowers. |
